The Air Jordan 3 was originally released in 1988. It was the first Air Jordan silhouette designed by Tinker Hatfield, whom debuted the iconic ‘Jumpman’ logo instead of the ‘Wings’ logo found on the previous two models. The shoe was also the first Air Jordan to feature visible air and elephant print on the upper. Four colorways were debuted, which are all considered ‘Holy Grails’ today.
They feature a black leather upper with elephant print on the toe and ankle area, which Air Jordans have made very famous. They also feature a visible air sole unit. The Air Jordan 3 (III) have a very funny story behind them.
